The Mossos d'Esquadra confirmed this Friday that evidence gathered in the investigation into the death of James Gracey, a 20-year-old American student missing in Barcelona, points to an accidental cause.

The lifeless body of the university student was located last Thursday in the Somorrostro beach area. The victim had been missing since early Tuesday morning, when he was last seen in the city.
The discovery occurred during a large-scale search operation coordinated by the Underwater Unit and the Maritime Police of the Mossos d'Esquadra. The Civil Guard and Barcelona Firefighters also collaborated in the search.
Police sources informed ACN that there are currently no signs of foul play, and investigators are treating the incident as a tragic accident at sea.
