Pope Leo XIV will travel by popemobile through Barcelona this Wednesday, undertaking a 15-minute route from Passeig de Gràcia with Diagonal to the Sagrada Familia.

The chosen vehicle for the papal visit to Barcelona is an Isuzu D-Max, a Japanese 'pick-up' known for its robustness and reliability. This model, adapted with safety features and a raised platform for the Pontiff to greet the faithful, has a starting price of around 30,000 euros. This is not the first time this vehicle has accompanied the Pope, as it was also used during his tour of Angola.
The papal route will begin at the intersection of Passeig de Gràcia and Avinguda Diagonal and will conclude at the Sagrada Familia. The journey, approximately 15 minutes long, is expected to draw large crowds of citizens along the way.
The visit will cause significant disruptions to public transport and private traffic. Several metro lines near the Sagrada Familia will have their stops affected, and numerous streets in the vicinity, including sections of Rosselló and adjacent roads, will be closed to ensure the event's security.
