Works on the new railway accesses, including access and dispatch tracks at Nou Llobregat, have been received, with a total investment of 22.1 million euros. These actions are essential for the future railway superstructure and the reorganization of services in the area.
The works involve the construction of the platform for two branches that will connect the new southern railway access with the port's internal network and the reception and dispatch terminal of the future Terminal Nou Llobregat. The relocation of services (electricity, communications, water) and the construction of the general drainage box are also included.
This project, part of the European Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) program, continues previous land consolidation works. The validation of track equipment for half a million euros is also planned.
The project also incorporates relevant environmental measures, such as a visual and acoustic screen to protect wildlife at the mouth of the Llobregat River, with an investment of 1.27 million euros. In total, the railway works at Nou Llobregat amount to 33.6 million euros, financed by European NextGenerationEU funds.
