A fault at a transformer station located at number 192 on Roger de Flor street, in the Dreta de l’Eixample neighborhood, has left 136 customers without electricity since Thursday at 6 PM. The incident was initially detected due to a suspicious odor, but the Generalitat Firefighters have confirmed that the origin was exclusively electrical, ruling out any impact on gas or water networks.
Firefighters received the alert shortly after 3 PM on Friday and located the source at the transformer station. Despite the detection on Thursday afternoon, repair work did not begin until Friday morning due to access difficulties for technicians. Endesa anticipated restoring power before 8 PM this Friday, but as of now, the supply has not yet been resumed.
The lack of electricity is causing significant problems for residents and businesses in the area, particularly during the current heatwave. Some establishments have had to discard products due to the loss of refrigeration, and one shopkeeper had to spend the night at their premises because the electric shutter could not be lowered.
The uncertainty regarding the duration of the repair has forced some residents to temporarily leave their homes and seek refuge with family or friends, while awaiting a definitive resolution to the outage.
