This Monday afternoon, power outages were reported in the neighborhoods of Pubilla Casas and Can Serra. According to information from Endesa and Protecció Civil, technicians are already working to resolve the incident.
The fault occurred at 5:24 PM due to an issue with an external cable at the Collblanc substation. This led to a small fire that punctually affected the substation, prompting the deployment of firefighters and local police. The incident impacted 12,886 customers.
This incident follows another power cut that left over 75,000 users without electricity overnight in Bellvitge, also in L'Hospitalet. That outage was resolved during the early morning hours.
Technical managers explained that the L'Hospitalet substation has seven transformers. Only one suffered significant damage, while another was affected by insulation contamination from smoke, though without structural damage. This second transformer was undergoing cleaning to be brought back into service.
By 6:00 AM this morning, Red Eléctrica confirmed that its substation showed no damage beyond the area near the affected transformer, normalizing service to the facility. Subsequently, Endesa was able to reconnect the transformers, excluding the damaged one and the one being cleaned.
Endesa has stated that the power supply situation has been normalized and that the fault does not pose a risk to service continuity.
