This addition brings the total number of employees at what is considered the "brain" of Rodalies in El Clot to 68. The measure is part of efforts to alleviate service deficiencies, which have become evident due to various incidents and accumulated deterioration over the years.
Unlike previous hirings, these 25 new employees have received specific four-month training, focused exclusively on the particularities of the Rodalies network. Previously, CGO personnel came from other Renfe departments and received more general training.
“"There is still a way to go, but we have started to improve."
The El Clot management center is responsible for coordinating 272 trains, 982 daily circulations, and 900 drivers. The future of this service depends on better coordination with Adif's Circulation Regulation Center (CRC), located at França station. The long-term goal is for both entities, Renfe (planning and drivers) and Adif (tracks and infrastructure), to operate from a single common center in the coming years.
The incident management protocol begins with a notification from the driver or Adif. Once the information reaches the El Clot center, affected passengers are notified via public address system, and the Rodalies Management Center protocol is activated. Technicians and center managers issue directives to resolve the incident, which may involve delays, service cancellations, or the establishment of alternative road transport. Finally, a Renfe technician decides how and through which channels to communicate the measures taken.
