The mobilization, held under the slogan ‘Sense trens no hi ha futur’ (No trains, no future), aims to highlight that the railway service problem is no longer isolated but structural. The spokesperson for Dignitat a les Vies, Anna Gómez, warns that the system is at a breaking point.
“"It's not that it doesn't work, it's that we are letting it die."
Users report severe issues across almost the entire Rodalies network, with a particular impact on the lines connecting Maresme, Selva, and Alt Empordà, such as the R11, where delays and cancellations are common. The discontent also affects Avant travelers between Girona, Barcelona, and Figueres, who experience train cancellations and overcrowding despite paying higher fares.
“"It is horrendous and we are very fed up. We just want to go to work and return home without anxiety."
From the Association for the Promotion of Public Transport (PTP), Carles Garcia noted that the protest seeks real change, as the lack of reliability causes users to lose hours. The call is unified and supported by unions and social entities such as Òmnium, CCOO, UGT, and Unió de Pagesos.
