Hundreds of people demonstrated this Saturday in Barcelona to denounce the poor performance of Rodalies and Regional trains, in a mobilization calling for urgent solutions for the entire Catalan territory.

The demonstrations held in Barcelona have highlighted deep social unrest regarding the service provided by RENFE and ADIF. Although the Catalan capital was the stage for the protest, organizers emphasize that the railway problem affects areas outside the Barcelona Metropolitan Area more severely.
In the city of Barcelona, citizens have alternatives such as the Metro or FGC. However, for the rest of Catalonia, from Terres de l'Ebre to the Girona region, the dependence on the national network is absolute, creating a sense of institutional disconnection.

Catalonia is all of us and, beyond the Llobregat and Besòs rivers, there is a country.

The railway crisis has illustrated the danger of a 'two-speed' Catalonia. Civil society and user associations have taken the lead in these demands, calling for the Government and Barcelona City Council to champion fair and competitive mobility for everyone.
