Rodalies lines R2, R2 Nord, and R11 are back in operation this Sunday, after being affected last Wednesday by a sinkhole caused by railway tunneling works in Montcada i Reixac. The incident occurred in the Vallbona neighborhood, where an excavator was engulfed.
Yesterday, Saturday, "white marches" were conducted without passengers to verify the infrastructure's condition and ensure operational safety before full service recovery, as reported by Renfe. The rail operator specified that a temporary speed restriction has been implemented at the affected point.
The infrastructure administrator, Adif, announced yesterday that the ground restoration tasks were completed. According to Adif, no ground movement or alteration had occurred since Wednesday, neither on the track platform nor on the structures of nearby buildings. Today, Sunday, the resolution of the incident has been confirmed.
Separately, line R3 experienced a temporary suspension on Saturday due to a copper theft. This issue has been resolved, but delays exceeding 30 minutes persist between L'Hospitalet and Fabra i Puig. Between Fabra i Puig and Puigcerdà, a complementary bus service is being provided.
