The decision to maintain the suspension was communicated after a new monitoring meeting regarding the Rodalies situation. Paneque stressed that the main objective is to resume operations with maximum reliability.
“"Every hour, we gain inspections and safety."
Work is being done "against the clock" to repair critical points in the network. A sinkhole in Badalona affecting the R1 line and trenches near the Garraf station have already been fixed. Nine Adif teams are currently deployed, with three more expected to join on Sunday, totaling twelve teams.
The Minister explained that technicians are collaborating with the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia (ICGC) and the Directorate General of Roads. Regarding the possible resumption of service on Monday, the infrastructure status will be assessed on Sunday, and citizens will be informed with "a reasonable amount of time" to organize themselves.
“"The guiding principle at all times has been safety."
The Government has reinforced interurban bus lines, which have absorbed 53% of passengers, while Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) absorbed 32%. Paneque requested that the alternative service be free until Rodalies operates reliably.
