The Sagrada Família construction board announced this Tuesday that negotiations with Barcelona City Council regarding the future of residents on Mallorca street are nearing a final agreement.

Board president Esteve Camps described the talks as cordial, focusing on the impact of the future Glory facade staircase. The project may require the demolition of several residential buildings, with a plan to relocate neighbors within the same district. The temple already owns a nearby plot on the same street intended for this purpose.
However, Barcelona City Council officials have called for caution, emphasizing that the priority remains the housing rights of those affected. In 2025, the basilica welcomed 4.8 million visitors, generating 134 million euros in revenue, 96% of which came from ticket sales.
