The Santa Coloma de Gramenet City Council has unveiled its 'Summer Plan 2026', featuring a doubled effort in street cleaning and security to ensure citizen coexistence during the hot months.

The council announced that the street cleaning service will be doubled until October to mitigate the effects of heat and increased public space usage. This measure includes more work teams, especially on weekends for neighborhood festivals, and enhanced cleaning of bins and bulky waste collection.
Regarding security, special measures will be implemented until September 15th, prioritizing community policing with a flexible model. The Local Police's Rapid Support and Intervention Unit (USIR) will also extend its evening and night shifts.
The plan also includes intensive forest fire prevention activities, such as brush clearing, removal of dry vegetation, and inspection of water reserves. Coordination with ADF, the Serralada de Marina Park, and firefighters will be strengthened, particularly around the Sant Joan festival.
Lastly, improvements in urban pest control under the new contract were highlighted, which speeds up responses to citizen reports and enhances contract monitoring. The list of treated public spaces and the number of species to be controlled, including fleas, bedbugs, and ticks, have been expanded.
