The Taula del Tercer Sector and other social organizations demanded this Tuesday in Barcelona that the Generalitat increase its 2026 budget for homelessness to at least 100 million euros.

Major groups including Caritas and the Red Cross criticized the current 30 million euro proposal, stating it only covers 30% of the required resources. They urged the Government to quadruple this investment by 2030 to address what has become a structural crisis fueled by rising rents.

"People in a situation of homelessness cannot wait any longer for a political response that must be urgent."

Additionally, the Pere Tarrés Foundation highlighted that 490,000 minors are at risk of poverty. They are calling for stable public investment in prevention programs to keep vulnerable children from entering the state's residential care system.
