The spokesperson for the People's Party at L'Hospitalet City Council, Sonia Esplugas, assessed current political affairs on Informatiu de Televisió de L'Hospitalet. Esplugas criticized Mayor David Quirós's use of a confidence motion to approve municipal accounts, a formula she considers legal but irresponsible.
“"This way of proceeding contradicts the municipal government's discourse, which constantly speaks of dialogue and consensus."
Given this situation, the PP proposed a motion of censure to seek cooperation among opposition groups. Esplugas described the socialist government's management as negligent, citing issues with street cleaning, security, and housing. She also noted that the municipal media contract will expire on January 31, 2025.
Regarding healthcare, the popular spokesperson reiterated that her party will not give up on building a new General Hospital in the city's northern district. According to Esplugas, the Hospital Clínic project in Can Rigal does not guarantee care for local residents who currently rely on the overcrowded Bellvitge Hospital.
Finally, the PP has taken the case of an occupied stall at the Collblanc Market to the Prosecutor's Office. The spokesperson demanded firmness from the City Council and the application of precautionary measures to shut down the illegal activity reported by other vendors.
