Storm Leonardo, the sixth disturbance affecting the region this year, has brought widespread rain, snow in the Pyrenees, and moderate wind to much of Catalonia since this Wednesday.

The forecast for this Wednesday announces showers across much of the geography, with precipitation affecting the southern half of the territory. Until noon, weak intensity rains with scarce accumulations are expected in the inland and coastal regions of Barcelona, Tarragona, and Lleida. Snow will also fall in the Pyrenees and western Pre-Pyrenees, with a snow line initially oscillating between 800 and 1,000 meters.

The AEMET forecast for the month of February points to the arrival of new Atlantic storms, consolidating the rainy trend already established in January.

Looking ahead to Thursday, a new front is expected to arrive, bringing more rain to the regions of Barcelona, Lleida, and Tarragona, although they will be of weak intensity. The wind will generally be light, but with some strong gusts on the coast during the afternoon.
The Meteocat has activated a yellow warning for rough seas along the coastal strip running from Tarragonès to Baix Empordà in Girona. For Friday, a significant improvement is expected with clear skies opening up, although the maritime warning will remain active.
The forecast announces a weekend of contrasts. Saturday will start sunny, but the night is expected to be rainy, with the first drops extending throughout Sunday, especially on the central coast and in the Pyrenees. Furthermore, temperatures will drop, bringing cold back to much of Catalonia.
