The unions USTEC, Secondary Teachers, CGT, and Intersindical have formally requested an urgent meeting with President Salvador Illa in Barcelona to address the ongoing educational crisis.

Following five days of historic strikes that concluded with a massive march at the Parliament of Catalonia, union leaders are increasing pressure on the Generalitat. They argue that the government cannot remain silent after the significant demonstrations seen last week.

"The collective response has been strong enough to demand a political rectification and the immediate opening of a real negotiation space."

The unions have proposed a meeting for this Tuesday morning at the University of Barcelona's historic building. They seek to resolve a conflict they claim remains open, despite previous agreements signed by the government with CCOO and UGT unions.
