Guillaumes's career at the school began in 1993, although she did not assume the directorship until 2000. With 25 years of leadership, she becomes the second longest-serving director in the center's history, only surpassed by the founder and first director, Pere Vergés.
Guillaumes, who previously worked in a special education center, recalls immediately falling in love with the school's educational project, which is inspired by republican values and focuses on the integral formation of the child.
“"I have always entered the school with a smile; being the director all this time has made me very happy."
Among the legacy left by the veteran director is the promotion of the municipal planetarium, located on the school grounds, which opened to the public in 2011, and the successful celebration of the center's centenary in 2022.
The handover of duties to the new director, Neus Chamorro, has been carried out during the first term of the academic year with the commitment of the entire educational community. The center plans to hold a farewell celebration for her on February 20.
