The Correllengua Agermanat has kicked off from the tomb of Pompeu Fabra in Prada de Conflent, featuring a floral offering and the reading of a manifesto emphasizing the importance of the Catalan language and cultural resilience.

This event, celebrating over two decades since the first correllengua began in Mallorca, aims to unite Catalan-speaking territories through seventeen stages. The inaugural manifesto highlighted the generational transmission of a sense of belonging and love for the language.

"Today we feel heirs to this sentiment. A sentiment that is passed from parents to children, among friends, among newcomers, among lovers, and among sister towns. Today we show that we are a people who will never surrender, a people who know where they come from and where they want to go, who love their language."

The route of the Correllengua Agermanat will span over 1,500 kilometers, with the participation of more than 5,000 volunteers who will carry out relays through over 500 municipalities. Notable stops include Barcelona on April 21, Valencia on April 25, Palma on May 2, and Alghero on May 5.

"Today we ask you all to transmit the flame of the language, the fire we all carry within, the fire that makes us who we are. Today we begin the first united heart of language. Long live the heart of language and long live the land!"
