The XXVIII Performing Arts Critics Awards Recognize 'L'amor venia amb taxi'

The 28th edition of the Performing Arts Critics Awards, held on April 14, 2026, at the Centre Moral i Cultural del Poblenou in Barcelona, recognized the production L'amor venia amb taxi by La Cubana in the musical category.

The competition honored various productions across a wide range of disciplines. The play L'herència, directed by Josep Maria Mestres, was named the best show of the year. In the field of new trends, the award went to LESHI, a proposal by Atresbandes.
For smaller formats, Operata imaginària, directed by Albert Arribas, received recognition. In the dance category, Fugaces, by Aina Alegre, was awarded as the national show, while Cher, by Juan Carlos Lérida, stood out in the Solo modality. Finally, The Royal Gucci Ball, by Jayce / HOP Festival, was honored in the other dance formats section.
Other disciplines also had their place in these awards. La tempesta, by Zero en conducta, was recognized as a family show, and Ròdols i cigrons, by Escarlata, received the award in the urban arts category. In the circus section, the show Tenet, by Eunoia Kolektiva, was the winner, and Jovent, by Mambo Project, was distinguished with the Novaveu award.
