A group of twelve detainees at the Foreigner Internment Center (CIE) in Barcelona's Zona Franca has sent a formal letter of thanks to the National Police for the treatment received during Ramadan.

The handwritten letter, signed by twelve Maghrebi men, highlights the efforts made by the center's management to accommodate prayer times and fasting schedules. This year, Ramadan took place between February 18 and March 20, requiring significant adjustments to daily routines within the facility.

"We want to thank the management and staff for respecting and accompanying us during the month of Ramadan. We value the effort in facilitating our prayer moments."

The CIE is a non-penitentiary facility where individuals awaiting deportation are held for a maximum of 60 days. While these centers often face scrutiny from human rights groups, this specific group of detainees expressed their gratitude for the 'spirit of coexistence' experienced during their stay in Barcelona.
