The 2026 Selectividad concludes today with the Catalan Language and Literature exam, a historically complex test, followed by modality subject tests and other assignments.

The 2026 Selectividad reaches its final day, beginning at 9 AM with the Catalan Language and Literature test, mandatory for all students taking the general phase of the University Entrance Exams (PAU). This subject has a reputation for being one of the most challenging, with average scores often lower than other common subjects, and last year it recorded the lowest qualification in the last decade.
From 12 PM onwards, students will face exams for modality subjects, including Performing Arts, Artistic Drawing, Greek Language and Culture, Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences, and Cultural and Artistic Movements. The day will conclude in the afternoon, starting at 3 PM, with tests in Technical Drawing, Art History, History of Music and Dance, Castilian Literature, Chemistry, and Graphic-Plastic Expression Techniques.
The days of Tuesday and Wednesday this week passed without significant incidents, despite the call including a new electronic device detection system, a teachers' strike, and, in Barcelona, the visit of Pope Leo XIV, which required significant traffic diversions. A total of 45,821 students began the tests, a record figure representing a 3.6% increase compared to the previous year.
The PAU took place on June 9, 10, and 11 with a defined schedule: documentation check from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM, first exam from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, break until 12:00 PM, second exam from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, break until 3:00 PM, and third exam from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Students with accredited incidents can take special tests on June 16, 17, and 18, with an extraordinary session scheduled for September.
The results of the tests will be published on June 23, with a period for requesting an exam review between June 25 and 29. University pre-registration, which began on June 2, ends on the 26th of the same month, and the first place assignments will be known on July 10, when the initial cut-off grades will also be revealed.
