The comparison between Madrid and Barcelona is a recurring theme, and now an Argentinian 'influencer', Agustín Quiroga, has offered his perspective after two years living in Spain. His video, which has garnered over 50,000 views, highlights the perceived differences between the two cities.
According to Quiroga, Madrid is characterized by a "much more corporate, elegant, and serious" energy, with a notable presence of suited individuals, offices, and busy lunchtime restaurants. Visually, he describes it as "whiter, neater, and more classic".
In contrast, Barcelona is perceived as "more international, creative, 'startup', 'lifestyle', and, above all, much more relaxed". From a visual standpoint, the Catalan capital is "more Mediterranean, artistic, yellowish, and basically alternative".
These differences are also reflected in the profiles of their inhabitants. Quiroga points out that Barcelona attracts more designers, 'freelancers', and foreigners, while Madrid is predominantly home to lawyers, office workers, bankers, and shareholders.
Finally, the analyst concludes that, although both cities are "incredible", Barcelona "embraces you with its mountain and its sea", whereas Madrid "pushes you more professionally".
