The Catalan police apprehended the individual last Tuesday, following an investigation that began in September 2022, when the first incident was reported. The latest recorded case was on March 15, 2026. Pending trial, the man is prohibited from entering the metro network.
One of the charges against him is sexual assault, as the Penal Code includes groping within this type of offense. The Urban Transport Regional Area Investigation Unit (ARTU) of the Mossos was in charge of the investigation.
The offender always acted in a similar way. He would position himself in the metro access lobby, very close to the turnstiles where passengers validate their transport tickets, and when a female passenger passed by, he would masturbate. When women entered the metro through the door, sometimes he would stick close behind them and rub against them. He also ejaculated on occasion.
The complexity of the investigation, which lasted over three years, was due to the fact that the aggressor always acted with his face hidden and without a fixed pattern of stations. However, in one of the last recorded images, part of his face could be seen, which facilitated his identification and arrest.
