The flagship store of the technology company Apple located on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona will temporarily close starting February 14 to carry out internal "improvements," according to the company.

The closure notice, effective from 8:00 PM on February 14, does not specify the duration of the service interruption. Sources from the Barcelona City Council confirmed that the Eixample district has not received any request for building permits from Apple.
Conversely, a renovation request has been registered for the Hotel Bless, which occupies a large part of the building where the store is located. Apple's press service has not responded to inquiries regarding the scope of the interventions or the expected timeline.

The Apple store on Passeig de Gràcia, opened on July 28, 2012, became the company's largest sales center in Southern Europe at the time of its inauguration.

This is not the first time the establishment has closed for renovations. In 2019, the store, situated on the ground floor of the former Banco Español de Crédito, previously closed for four months for remodeling. Apple's other physical store in Catalonia is located in the Maquinista shopping center, inaugurated on September 4, 2010.
