The Fundació Festa Major de Gràcia will elect a new president next March, as the current leader, Lina López, has confirmed she will not seek re-election after four years in charge of the organization.

After four years leading the organization responsible for arranging the popular Festa Major de Gràcia, Lina López is stepping down. Elections for the new presidency will be held next March, provided there is more than one candidate list. If only one list is presented, it will be automatically ratified.
The electoral process will begin in January, when lists can be submitted and the board of trustees meeting prior to the elections will take place. The previous extraordinary board meeting, held in October, was used to inform street commissions that, despite the subsidy cut by the Generalitat, the accounts remain stable.
The Generalitat reduced the subsidy granted to the Fundació by nearly 50,000 euros, dropping from 125,000 euros to approximately 75,000 euros. Thanks to the entity's financial cushion, it has been guaranteed that there will be no deficit and that activities scheduled beyond August, such as the royal postmen, will be maintained.
The new management committee taking office in March will have to address structural challenges of the celebration, with the overcrowding of the festival being one of the main long-term problems requiring a solution.
