The popular Sant Medir 2026 Festivities kick off on February 15 in Barcelona, featuring the central parade of horses and floats throwing sweets on March 3 in Gràcia and Sant Gervasi.

The Sant Medir 2026 Festivities once again fill the streets of Barcelona with sweetness, being one of the most deeply rooted celebrations in Vila de Gràcia, although it is also celebrated in Sant Gervasi and La Bordeta. This festival is famous for throwing tons of candies and sweets to the public from horses, floats, and trucks.
The main day of the festival will be Tuesday, March 3, in Gràcia. In the morning, the groups will participate in the street procession, passing through the Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia starting at 9 a.m. In the afternoon, the grand parade will begin around 6:30 p.m., concentrating on the streets of Sant Salvador, Escorial, and Nil Fabra, descending along Gran de Gràcia street to the Pla de Nicolás Salmerón.

The traditional pilgrimage activity to the Sant Medir hermitage, located in Sant Cugat, has been canceled until further notice due to restrictions imposed in the Collserola mountain range because of swine fever.

The preliminary events in Gràcia begin on Sunday, February 15, with the blessing of the candies at the Parròquia de Sant Joan de Gràcia. Furthermore, the festival will extend to La Bordeta and Sants on Sunday, March 8, featuring the concentration of groups and the solemn mass in honor of the patron saint at the Parròquia de Sant Medir de Sants. This year's poster was designed by Diego Gil.
