The head of the opposition for ERC in Sant Andreu de Llavaneres, Gerard Viladomat, strongly criticized the plan for a new police station at Can Cabotet, calling it an unnecessary expenditure for the municipality.

Viladomat, who took over the leadership from former mayor Joan Nani Mora last July, believes the relocation of the Local Police to Can Cabotet is a mistake. He argues that the current building is already modern and that the new location, far from being central, will exacerbate the distinction between the upper and lower parts of the municipality.

"Can Cabotet is a pharaonic and totally unnecessary project, because the current municipal building for the local police is one of the most modern."

Regarding other facilities, ERC supports the basic project for Labandària, although it differs from the initial assessment by the Diputació (Provincial Council). The current project, with an investment of less than four million euros, plans for a multipurpose auditorium-style hall with capacity for about three hundred people, a figure they consider «more than adequate».
Concerning urban development, Viladomat does not fear excessive growth on the Sant Sebastià hill, where 594 homes (40% subsidized) are planned, but rather that this growth occurs without adequate services. He points out that this expansion, which would bring the municipality to around 15,000 inhabitants, would help «re-stitch the municipality» and create new commercial areas, but demands mobility improvements, such as access to Girona from the C-32 and the pacification of the N-2.
Finally, the opposition leader criticizes the local government, which includes the PP, for its focus on «populism and presentism», concentrating only on solving immediate problems without a long-term vision. He also regrets the lack of participation of political groups in drafting fiscal ordinances.
