Mobility in Barcelona was significantly affected this morning by a train incident on metro L5 at Sagrada Família station and a traffic accident on Ronda del General Mitre.

Since shortly before 11 AM, Barcelona's L5 metro line has experienced service interruptions due to a train breakdown at Sagrada Família station. According to Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), the line has only been operating between Cornellà Centre and Diagonal, and between La Sagrera and Vall d'Hebron, leaving the central section without service.
This disruption necessitated the evacuation of several passengers, who had to alight from trains before reaching Sagrada Família, forcing them to interrupt their journeys at stations such as Sant Pau | Dos de Maig and Verdaguer. Full service was not restored until almost 12 PM, with longer-than-usual train intervals for some time.
Concurrently, Ronda del General Mitre also experienced complications from early this Thursday morning. An accident, allegedly caused by a fuel spill, led to several motorcycles falling on this important thoroughfare in the Catalan capital, resulting in two people sustaining minor injuries.
Units of the Guàrdia Urbana were dispatched to the scene, closing two lanes of traffic: the bus lane and a central lane, to manage the situation and facilitate assistance and cleanup efforts.
