The R1 Rodalies line is cut between Badalona and L'Hospitalet from last Saturday until Sunday, January 11, to adjust the tracks in the La Sagrera curve due to excessive wear.

Only five years after its inauguration, the railway infrastructure surrounding the future La Sagrera station required urgent intervention due to unusual and completely unforeseen wear. This problem is located in the curve connecting the station with Sant Adrià de Besòs, a high-traffic point that generated higher tensions than anticipated.
These tensions caused accelerated rail consumption and wear on the flanges of the Rodalies train wheels. Initially, Adif tried to mitigate the issue by reducing the maximum speed limit from 60 km/h to 30 km/h. The current action, presented as “improvement of the geometric parameters of the track,” seeks a permanent solution by modifying the concrete and adjusting the rails.

"Now I take the L2, connect with the L1 at Clot, and continue to my destination. It can take me at least 20 minutes longer than by train."

The cut affects the R1 and RG1 lines, forcing users to resort to alternative routes, mainly the L2 metro line from Badalona. This interruption, which ends on Sunday, January 11, is also being used to reinforce the rigid catenary at both ends of the La Sagrera tunnel to improve reliability and prevent potential incidents.
