The CGT union has called a protest concentration for Wednesday, December 17 at 5:00 PM outside the Correos office in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat to denounce severe staff shortages at local post offices.

The protest will take place on Mestre Candi street, in the Sant Josep neighborhood. According to the CGT, the deterioration of the Postal Service is common nationwide, but the situation in L'Hospitalet has recently worsened due to increased workload.
The increased workload is attributed to the dispatch of thousands of notifications from the Diputació de Barcelona (Barcelona Provincial Council) and the usual surge in postal traffic during December.

The lack of new hires prevents covering vacant positions or replacing sick personnel, leading to an operational collapse of the service.

The CGT contacted the Diputació de Barcelona to inform them that the staff shortage made it impossible to distribute the notifications within the stipulated deadline. The union has observed a rise in user complaints at Correos offices regarding the processing of these notifications.
