King Felipe VI will visit L'Hospitalet de Llobregat on Monday, December 15, to preside over the commemorative events marking the centenary of the city title concession.

The date of December 15 marks the exact centenary of the city title concession, which was granted by the current monarch's great-grandfather, King Alfonso XIII, in 1925. This recognition was given in response to the notable economic and demographic evolution that L'Hospitalet had experienced in the preceding years.
During the visit, King Felipe VI will be accompanied by a broad institutional representation, including the Mayor of L'Hospitalet, David Quirós; the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa; the Secretary of State for Territorial Policy, Arcadi España; the Government Delegate in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto, and the President of the Diputació de Barcelona, Lluïsa Moret.
The agenda will begin at the City Hall, where the monarch will greet members of the current council and former mayors, Celestino Corbacho and Nuria Marín. Subsequently, he will sign the Book of Honor and receive a commemorative lapel pin as a gift.

This commemoration highlights the economic and demographic evolution that L'Hospitalet has experienced over the last century, consolidating its position as a key engine of the metropolitan area.

The visit will continue at the new La Florida 6.0 Digital Transformation Center, a facility scheduled to open to the public in the first quarter of 2026. There, authorities will learn about digital innovation projects and view two audiovisuals created for the centenary commemoration. The event will conclude at the Citizen Attention Office with remarks from the King and a cocktail served by students from the municipal Hospitality Training Center.
