The Barcelona City Council has confirmed the installation of natural grass at the Narcís Sala and Nou Sardenya stadiums, a measure that ensures the participation of Club Esportiu Europa and Unió Esportiva Sant Andreu in Primera RFEF.

This decision comes after weeks of uncertainty, especially for UESA, which recently achieved promotion to the category. Initially, the council had expressed reservations about the feasibility of changing the turf at Narcís Sala, despite owning the stadium.

"Barcelona City Council will install natural grass at Narcís Sala and Sant Andreu will compete in Primera RFEF at its stadium. Many thanks to the popular and neighborhood mobilization of Sant Andreu de Palomar!"

Unió Esportiva Sant Andreu
The estimated cost for Narcís Sala, which had natural grass until 2005, is around 400,000 euros, with works expected to last two months. The club's management had warned that playing outside its district could jeopardize its economic viability, due to a contractual clause preventing it.
In the case of Nou Sardenya, the installation is more complex due to the presence of an underground car park and gym, which could lead to water leaks. This situation already forced CE Europa to temporarily relocate to Can Dragó last January. Both entities are now working with the City Council to define the execution schedules.

"The installation of grass at Nou Sardenya, which will allow the return of the men's First Team to our stadium, will be a reality."

Club Esportiu Europa
The municipal decision has been linked to the discovery of new training spaces for the base, inclusive, and women's teams of both clubs. The UE Sant Andreu teams will be able to use the AISS fields, in Bon Pastor and Baró de Viver, while those of CE Europa will have new training spaces at Llars Mundet, in addition to the Àliga field.
