The Germandat Andreuenca has moved the giants and 'capgrossos' of Sant Andreu de Palomar into the old Sant Andreu Comtal train station, closed since December 2022, converting it into a new cultural space.

The historic building of the old Sant Andreu Comtal train station, dating back to 1854 and once considered the oldest active station in all of Spain, has reopened its doors to host the neighborhood's festive imagery. This initiative, promoted by the District and the Germandat Andreuenca, seeks to dignify both the architectural and cultural heritage.

"this was a historic demand of the Andreuenca culture that has been made possible before the end of the year."

The first figures to move in were the giants Andreu and Colometa, the Coloms, the Avis, the small Galtetes, and the 'capgrossos' Sereno and Castanyera. The managing entity, the Germandat Andreuenca, expects the space to gradually fill with more pieces and consolidate itself as a key cultural facility for Sant Andreu.
The station was closed on December 3, 2022, after one hundred and sixty-eight years of service, due to the construction works for the Sagrera station. One week later, on December 11, the new underground Sant Andreu station began operating. District councilor Marta Villanueva officially handed over the keys to the Germandat before the Festa Major, establishing the space in the Plaça de l'Estació.
