Mayor Mireia González presented the ambitious new municipal sports pavilion project, which will be integrated into the Parc de Can Zam in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, with a budget of 14 million euros, framed within the Esport en Construcció 2025-2030 Plan.

The project is part of the Esport en Construcció 2025-2030 Municipal Plan, a strategic commitment endowed with nearly 30 million euros for the renovation and creation of sports facilities. Specifically, the construction of this large pavilion, which will be the city's largest sports facility, has a budget of over 14 million euros.

With a built surface area exceeding 5,400 m², the interior design is planned for maximum versatility, housing three parallel courts, a large central court, a specific gymnasium for sports gymnastics, and stands with capacity for almost a thousand spectators. It will also include spaces for local entities and multipurpose rooms.
The design, drafted by the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), focuses heavily on sustainability and the climate emergency. The building will feature a large green facade, natural ventilation and light systems, photovoltaic panels for self-consumption, and water-saving mechanisms, also functioning as a climate refuge for citizens.
Construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2026, with an estimated duration of 24 months. The funding results from institutional collaboration, including a subsidy from the General Sports Council of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, contributions from the AMB, and resources from the Santa Coloma City Council itself.
