The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested three women in Berga last week on charges of public health offenses and electricity fraud, following the discovery of an indoor cannabis plantation.

Officers from the Berga police station arrested three women, aged 22, 39, and 52, on Tuesday, December 9. The operation was triggered early that morning when police responded to a neighbor's call reporting a water leak that had flooded her apartment.
Upon entering the residence, with the resident's permission, officers confirmed the leak was fixed but discovered two rooms entirely dedicated to the illegal cultivation of marijuana. The first woman was immediately detained.

During the arrest and transfer to the police station, one of the detainees assaulted the officers and caused damage to the police vehicle, leading to additional charges of assault and property damage.

The following day, December 10, the Mossos returned with a judicial warrant and confirmed the presence of 178 marijuana plants, most approximately 60 centimeters tall.
The plantation featured a sophisticated setup, including complex installations of fans and air conditioning, and the electrical supply had been tampered with to illegally draw power. The three detainees appeared before the duty investigating court in Berga on December 11.
