The Berga City Council and the Catalan Traffic Service have decided to advance the closure of the city's exits to the C-16 northbound to this Thursday afternoon, aiming to improve traffic management during the Easter Week exodus.

This action, typically applied on Friday afternoons since March 20, will be exceptionally implemented from 3 PM to 10 PM. The goal is to mitigate the road congestion that the town experiences during holiday exit operations, as many drivers use Berga's streets to bypass C-16 traffic jams.
The closure means that all northbound accesses to the C-16 from Berga will be disabled. This includes exits from the Guillem de Berguedà institute, the hospital, and the link to the C-26, which leads to Vilada and Borredà. Passage through the old road that would allow reaching Cercs without using the C-16 will also be prohibited.
The measure forces drivers heading north to first go south to the Berga Sud access, then turn around and rejoin the C-16 northbound. This strategy aims to discourage vehicles from entering the city to avoid queues.
Although the measure is brought forward to Thursday and, therefore, is not planned for Friday afternoon, the traffic data collected will be used to evaluate whether the action needs to be repeated in the future, although it is not initially contemplated.
