Queralt Sales, a councilor for Junts, was the most vocal critic, directly asking Ermínia Altarriba to step down from her festival-related duties. Sales described the lack of a 'Plan B' as an absolute political failure and a lack of respect for the citizens and local groups involved in the parade.
“"When institutional disorder exceeds festive disorder, something is not working. Step aside before doing more damage to the festival."
In response, Altarriba defended the administration's actions, citing the red weather alert issued by the Generalitat as the primary reason for the cancellation. Councilor Aleix Serra supported this view, stating that such emergency warnings are mandatory and leave no room for local discretion.
Other political groups, including PSC and BeGI, called for a complete protocol review. They pointed out that neighboring towns managed the weather situation more effectively, highlighting a perceived lack of leadership in Berga during the festive weekend.
