The Berga City Council has opened a new tender for the assembly and disassembly of tents in El Vall, after terminating the previous contract due to significant service deficiencies.

The Berga City Council has once again initiated the process to award the contract for the assembly and disassembly of tents intended for El Vall. The previous tender, awarded last summer, was terminated by the administration due to significant shortcomings in the service provided by the winning company.
According to councilor Aleix Serra's justification at the time of termination, numerous problems arose, such as delays in assembly, use of inadequate material, or attitude issues from the company. Serra indicated that the outcome should not have been overly surprising.
The new tender incorporates relevant changes. One of the most visible novelties for citizens is the requirement to dismantle all tents after the Santa Tecla Fair, thus preventing them from remaining installed in El Vall between September and December, as was planned in the previous contract. These improvements, along with a revaluation of the work endorsed by technical services, have increased the contract's value, rising from approximately 14,000 euros to over 25,000.
The council's primary objective remains to address the complaints from local residents, who had expressed their discontent with the constant presence of the tents, arguing that they "detract from the promenade and block the view of shops".
Under the new contract, tents must be dismantled whenever a fair concludes. For the May Fair, the winning company must assemble three tents and remove them the following week. Subsequently, for the Santa Tecla Fair, two will be installed and also removed once the fair is over. Finally, for the Game and Christmas Fair in December, three tents will be reassembled and must be removed after the event.
Interested parties can submit their proposals until August 6th at 11:59 PM. All detailed information regarding the tender is available on the public procurement platform.
