The Berguedà Business Association organized the Impuls IA conference this February in Cal Rosal to analyze how artificial intelligence can improve the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Artificial intelligence has become a strategic tool for the business community. This was highlighted during the Impuls IA conference, an event organized by the Berguedà Business Association (ACEB) in collaboration with Regió7. The meeting brought together 230 members at Espai Curriu in Cal Rosal to explore how this technology can optimize processes and save working hours.

"We want Berguedà to compete in the top tier"

During the session, economist Natàlia Mas noted that while 80% of SMEs are already exploring AI, only 5% have integrated it with tangible results. Mas encouraged business owners to delegate mechanical tasks, such as data analysis or document summaries, to focus on roles where the human factor remains essential. The program included a keynote by professor Xavier Sala-i-Martín.

Engineer Josep Maria Ganyet and UManresa dean Marc Bernadich agreed that AI will change the rules of the game but warned it must be used with caution and human supervision. Ganyet emphasized that the best way to start is through trial and error, leveraging the specific expertise each owner has regarding their own business.
