The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon when a heavy vehicle attempted to enter the Túnel de la Nou. The impact severely damaged the lighting system, leaving several lights hanging from the wiring, although no other traffic incidents were initially reported.

Due to the damage, the Servei Català de Trànsit (Catalan Traffic Service) decided to close the C-16 southbound, heading towards Berga, to carry out the necessary repairs. The closure began at 7:45 AM.

Repair work has been ongoing for several hours. According to data provided by the Servei Català de Trànsit, the traffic restriction was still active at 12:20 PM this Thursday afternoon, causing congestion in the area.
