A male climber died this Tuesday at the Pedraforca massif after suffering a fatal accident in the Canal Roja area, leading to a major search operation by emergency services.

The Bombers de la Generalitat launched a search at 21:34 after the climber failed to return from the north face. Specialized GRAE mountain rescue units and canine teams tracked signs in the snow, eventually discovering the body along with climbing equipment in a steep gully.
The Mossos d'Esquadra police force from Berga is investigating the incident. A mountain intervention unit used a helicopter this morning to recover the body, while medical emergency services provided psychological support to the family.
