The decision to close the facility was made after a neighbor reported a loose roof panel. According to Aleix Serra, the Councilor for Urban Planning, the situation, although initially minor, could become dangerous if not resolved promptly.
“"In principle, it is quite minor, but it must be resolved because if it worsened, it could be dangerous."
Firefighters were dispatched to El Tossalet on Wednesday afternoon to assess the situation and attempt to fix the problem. However, the persistent strong winds prevented them from accessing the exact point of detachment to evaluate the necessary action and carry it out immediately.
For this reason, the temporary closure of the facility has been decided until weather conditions allow the detached panel to be secured. Councilor Serra stated that the closure is expected to be brief, but emphasized that reopening will directly depend on the wind's decrease, with another attempt to access the roof planned for Thursday.
