The Gironella Town Council has launched a recruitment process to add two new officers to the Local Agents force, enabling the establishment of night patrols in the town.

This staff expansion, aiming for a total of five officers, was already included in the 2026 municipal budget. The new positions are initially offered as interim roles for three years, with the goal of becoming permanent posts to ensure service stability.
Alongside the new hires, the council is investing in a new police vehicle and ten surveillance cameras equipped with the LECTIO license plate recognition system to enhance local security.
The application period remains open until April 15. Following the selection process, a two-year job pool will be created for candidates who pass the exams but do not secure an immediate position.
