The Junts per Berga municipal group has submitted a proposal to upgrade the local cemetery in Berga, including the construction of 50 niches and 60 columbariums to resolve current capacity issues.

The opposition party argues that the Berga cemetery is an essential facility that has been neglected for too long. They advocate for an immediate intervention and a feasibility study for expanding the site towards the Butà area.

"A forward-looking perspective is needed, with criteria of sustainability, efficiency, and adaptation to the needs of the coming decades."

Spokesperson Ramon Caballé also demanded the launch of a ownership regularization protocol within three months. This measure aims to update records and provide legal certainty for the management of the burial plots.
Additionally, the proposal includes a biennial maintenance program to restore the French garden, repair damaged rental niches, and install a public restroom, which has been a long-standing request from families and visitors.
