Lluís Gamell appointed as new manager of Berga Hospital

The experienced healthcare executive will take office on March 23 to lead a new strategic phase.

The Salut Catalunya Central board has appointed Lluís Gamell as the new manager of Berga Hospital, with his official start date set for March 23.

Lluís Gamell joins the institution following an open selection process. His leadership will focus on strengthening the local healthcare model and ensuring the sustainability of current projects in the Berguedà region.

With over 30 years of experience, Gamell previously served as Operations Director at the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO). His background also includes a decade as HR Director at Sant Pau Hospital and various management roles within the Catalan Health Institute (ICS).
The appointment marks the end of Antònia Baraldés's tenure. The regional health authorities expressed gratitude for her commitment, confirming that the transition will be managed to ensure service continuity.
