Meteocat shared NASA satellite images this Monday confirming that the snow coverage across Catalonia is the largest in the last twenty years, registering record depths in the Pyrenees.

The comparative photographs, provided by the US space agency, highlight the vast difference in snow coverage between January last year and last Sunday, January 25. While the previous year snow was limited to a small part of the Catalan Pyrenees, this year the snowfall has spread across the territory.
This extension has left significant depths in areas of Central Catalonia, such as Solsonès, Berguedà, and Anoia, as confirmed by workers at Catalan ski resorts.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Ski resorts are reporting record figures. Port Ainé, in Pallars Sobirà, already accumulates over three meters of snow. Other points with exceptional records include Espot (280 cm), Vallter (280 cm), and Boí Taüll, in Alta Ribagorça (270 cm).
Regarding Cerdanya, the resorts of La Molina and Masella report 230 cm and 220 cm, respectively. The Aran resort of Baqueira Beret registers 170 cm, while Port del Compte reaches 230 cm.
