The first phase, costing 618,622 euros, involved placing 816 solar modules in five key locations: the City Hall building, the Olvan swimming pool, the sports court changing rooms, the Cal Rosal water reservoir, and the Rocarrodona Industrial Estate Service Center. This work was subsidized by the Diputació de Barcelona through the Renovables 2030 program.
“"We see the possibility of compensating the surplus with the consumption of the industrial estate companies or private individuals, and creating the embryo of an energy community."
The total nominal power installed in this first stage is around 500 kW, with an estimated production of 1,300 kW/day solely at the Rocarrodona Industrial Estate. Thanks to this investment, the calculated annual economic saving for the municipality will be 62,374 euros.
Looking ahead to the first half of 2026, the local executive plans a second phase with a budget of 457,575 euros. This will include installing panels at the Cal Rosal Social Center, the Ateneu Olvanès, and the Cal Rosal swimming pools. This strategic commitment is part of the municipal government's (CUP) roadmap towards more efficient resource management and a firm commitment to renewable energy.
