The Puig-reig City Council has completed the first phase of the new athletics track, which will debut during the La Corrida festival (from January 16 to 18) before opening to all citizens.

The completion of this first stage allows the operation of a 400-meter main track and a 500-meter outdoor warm-up track, both finished with sauló (sand/gravel). A football field has also been set up inside the circuit.
This initial investment, amounting to 449,301 euros (VAT included), represents a firm step by the City Council to modernize spaces that promote healthy habits and social cohesion through sport.

"With this first phase completed, we fulfill the commitment to promote sports activity in this area. We want the track to be a vibrant space where everyone, from children to our athletes, has a place."

Eva Serra · Mayor of Puig-reig
Parallel to the opening, municipal technical services are working on drafting the plan of uses, a key document that will regulate schedules, operation, and coexistence among different users, such as schools, sports entities, and individuals, before starting the second phase of the project.
