Recovery of climber's body completed at Pedraforca mountain

The Mossos d'Esquadra police force completed the recovery of Albert Martínez Giró's body this Wednesday, February 18, after the 32-year-old climber died at Pedraforca mountain.

The operation began at 10:45 AM when a police helicopter transported the remains to the Berga heliport. The victim, a local resident and mountain sports enthusiast, suffered a fatal fall on Tuesday while climbing the north face of the iconic peak.
Emergency services were alerted late Tuesday night after the climber failed to return. A search team including GRAE mountain rescue specialists and Bombers de la Generalitat located the body at 1:00 AM in a snowy gully between Canal Roja and La Grallera.
