Residents of Bruc Street in Berga maintain protest against bus stop relocation

Neighbors oppose the provisional change to the Solsona road, arguing that the street is not prepared to handle the increased traffic and safety risks.

Residents of Bruc Street in Berga have escalated protests with banners and interventions in the January plenary session to halt the provisional relocation of the bus stop to the Solsona road.

The change of location, motivated by accidents at the current stop on Passeig de la Pau, is temporary until the definitive station is built south of Rasa dels Molins. However, the neighborhood strongly opposes it, as the measure would involve diverting vehicle traffic towards La Valldan through their street.
The group has shown its rejection of the municipal government's decision (formed by CUP and ERC) through banners and their presence at the Berga City Council plenary session for the second consecutive month, reiterating that Bruc Street cannot handle the increased circulation without generating safety problems.
Residents have also demanded that the governing team, led by Mayor Ivan Sànchez, prepare an updated mobility study, as the reports they rely on date back to 2022, and they believe traffic flows have varied significantly since then.

"There is no consensus; therefore, if the residents are not in favor, we understand that it is not feasible."
